Updates from Vintage 2018

The headline news is that Vintage 2018 is now over, and wine is in the tanks. Overall, the fruit quality was very good, leading to wine in tank that has impressive fruit weight and depth of flavour.

Other news is that we have moved our Marlborough Grape Producers Cooperative office to a new sunny location out among the vines with scenic views of the Richmond Ranges. Our new address is 27 Terrace Road, Renwick, Marlborough.

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Flowering

At the time of this post, most of our Marlborough sub-regions will have gone through their Sauvignon Blanc flowering. Conditions for pollination and fruit set have been excellent, with continuous warm dry weather helping to facilitate what is a great start to the 2017-2018 vintage.

In addition, such conditions will have had a very positive impact on vine flower initiation for the coming 2018-2019 season.

Gold Medal for Marlborough Grape Producers Cooperative

Fantastic news for the MGP Cooperative. A Gold Medal was won at the World Bulk Wine Exhibition held over 20th-21st November 2017 in Amsterdam. The particular wine entered is one that the Coop produce for an Australian client.

Fruit Supply 2017 and Onwards

If you are thinking of supplying the Cooperative, then contact us as soon as possible. There is continuing demand for grapes and wine from buyers who see value in dealing with a Growers Cooperative rather than an investor owned wine company. Remember - in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 we picked every berry on our Members blocks. We doubt any other wine company in Marlborough did this.
